Artist's Description

Moai Listeni/ˈmoʊ.aɪ/, or mo‘ai, are monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people on the Chilean Polynesian island of Easter Island between the years 1250 and 1500 CE.[1][2] Nearly half are still at Rano Raraku, the main moai quarry, but hundreds were transported from there and set on stone platforms called ahu around the island's perimeter. About Martin Newman

Martin Newman

Let me introduce myself: My name is Martin and I am originally from Portsmouth. After spending my school years moving from city to city, I have finally settled in East Anglia with my wife an Daughter. Having always had a keen interest in photography, I actively took it up as a passion around ten years ago, and have been steadily building my portfolio ever since. Specialising in landscape and nature photography, capturing images as seen through my own eyes. I use minimal editing to ensure my images remain true to life depictions. I am lucky enough to have been recognised as a Viewbug image of the year finalist in 2014, and was selected as one of the top 20 winning images in the 2015 competition in the refurbishment of the new Essex...
